Lorima

The carbon mast and boom manufacturer Lorima joins the Wichard Group.
Heavily present in the racing game (official supplier of the Imoca’s, Ultim’s etc…) Lorima also supplies several boat building facilities, including Mega-yachts.

The current collaboration between Sparcraft and Lorima for the supply of the rigs for the new Figaro 3 (with foils) lead to a desire to consolidate the know-hows between the Lorient based company and the Wichard Group. A perfect mastery of the demanding technical skills of carbon, a great knowledge of offshore racing and the deploying of those technologies towards yachting and OEMs have seduced the Group. Lorima was ready for the next step of its development and saw a great opportunity by diversifying within such a group with industrial expertise in the yachting world.

The Lorima team – 30 people on 7700 sq in the old sub-marine base of Lorient, Brittany – and the Wichard team – 220 employees worldwide – share a similar taste for liability and performance. The new alliance is ready to win new challenges, which brings great news for sailors and should provide excellent prospects for the current and future needs of the Group’s clients around the world.
